This live-broadcast of The Walt Bodine Show, moderated by radio personality and Maar Sound Archive head Chuck Haddix, will feature recordings of Bodine broadcasts and discussion of his reporting on significant events in Kansas City’s history.

About Walt Bodine
With more than 50 years in the media, Walt Bodine is a journalism icon in Kansas City. He’s been called the “voice of the people,” and “our community conscience.” Bodine’s job titles at WDAF-TV and radio include staff announcer, program script writer, television reporter, news anchor, reporter and director. Bodine’s numerous interview subjects are a who’s who of the 20th century and include interviews with Robert Kennedy and Marshall Space Flight Center director Dr. Werner Von Braun. Bodine covered events that have defined Kansas City, such as the 1951 Kansas City flood and the 1957 Ruskin Heights tornado. For his work, Bodine has received numerous awards including the Kansas City Spirit Award in 1987. More recently Bodine was the recipient of the Bishop John J. Sullivan Award for Communications.
