About the Musicians:
Mike Miller Trio
"Mostly understated but eclectic and memorable, Mike Miller and Trio JuJu is an artistic and unique mix of Brazilian bossa novas, Cuban rumbas, swinging KC jazz standards, Parisian love songs and more. The sound is always improvised and musical, you may hear Spanish flamenco guitar mixed with tabla drums from India one moment, and roaring Cuban congas and soaring saxophone the next. It's pulsating jazz from around the world"

Making Movies
Making Movies, arguably the only "indie" band in the Midwest writing songs in both English and Spanish, released their debut EP Tierra Firme in 2008. Touring extensively in support of the release, they received glowing reviews in various publications and the EP's single, Perro Borracho, was added to rotation on Kansas City's Spanish station La Kebuena.
The founding members of the band, brothers Enrique and Diego Chi, were born in Santiago, Panama, moving to Kansas City in their youth. Their multi-cultural background is evident in the music as it melds a variety of Pop and Rock influences with traditional Salsa, Merengue and Reggaeton elements.
Making Movies played over 100 shows in 2008 even stretching out to Miami, playing numerous Hispanic festivals including Fiesta Del Sol (Chicago) and Cultura Fest at the famed Tobacco Road (Miami). Making Movies' enigmatic live set has built them a fervent, growing fan base landing them slots along side Aterciopelados and Pastilla.
The band is working on their debut full length to be released in summer of 2009.
