Mother nature took it’s toll today on the historic lamp post clock located in front of Union Station. The clock, originally erected in the 1880’s at 10th & Main and relocated in 1918 to 11th & Grand, was eventually installed in front of the Station in 1936. The historical heart of the original clock – its 1880’s mechanism – was restored separate from the outer pedestal and is currently on display, in working order, inside the Station.
Station officials said their goal is to repair and reinstall the outer structure as it is a visible reminder to the community of our City’s history.
